At BYD Parts UK, we want customers to feel confident when purchasing parts and accessories from our website.
This policy explains how cancellations, returns, refunds, damaged products, faulty products and incorrect orders are handled.
Nothing in this policy affects your statutory rights under UK consumer law.
Please contact us before returning any product.
Do not send a product to the address shown on the original parcel, packaging or delivery label unless we have specifically instructed you to use that address.
To request a return, email:
Please include:
Your full name
Your order number
The product you wish to return
The reason for the return
Clear photographs if the product is faulty, damaged, incorrect or not as described
Photographs of the packaging where delivery damage is being reported
Once we have reviewed your request, we will explain the return process and provide the appropriate return instructions.
Sending a product to an unauthorised address may delay or prevent the return from being received and processed.
Please contact us as soon as possible if you wish to cancel an order that has not yet been dispatched.
We will try to stop the order before it enters the fulfilment or delivery process. However, we cannot guarantee that cancellation will be possible once processing has started.
Where an order has already been dispatched, you may need to receive it and then follow the returns process set out in this policy.
If you are purchasing as a UK consumer, you will normally have the right to cancel your online order without providing a reason.
The cancellation period normally ends 14 days after the day on which:
You receive the product;
A person nominated by you receives the product; or
You receive the final product, instalment or part where an order is delivered separately.
To exercise your right to cancel, you must clearly tell us that you wish to cancel before the cancellation period expires.
Please email:
Include your full name, order number and details of the product or products you wish to cancel.
After informing us that you wish to cancel, you must normally return the products within a further 14 days.
Certain products may be excluded from the statutory right to cancel, as explained later in this policy.
Products returned because you have changed your mind must be returned unused, unfitted, undamaged and complete.
Products should be returned:
In their original packaging
With all supplied components, accessories and instructions
Without damage to the product
Without unnecessary damage to the original packaging
Securely packaged to prevent damage during return delivery
You may inspect a product only to the extent reasonably necessary to confirm its nature, characteristics and suitability, in the same way that you might inspect it in a physical shop.
Please take care when opening packaging and inspecting a product. Do not fit, install, connect, modify, mark, remove protective films from or otherwise use the product unless you intend to keep it.
If you decide to return a product after it has been used, fitted, marked, scratched, damaged, altered, handled excessively or returned without its original packaging, its value may be reduced because it can no longer be sold as brand new.
Where the product cannot be resold as brand new, we may deduct an amount of up to 50% of the product’s value from your refund to reflect the reduction in value.
The amount deducted will depend on factors including:
The overall condition of the product
Whether the product has been used or fitted
Any marks, scratches, wear or damage
Whether all components and accessories have been returned
Whether instructions or documentation are missing
The condition of the original packaging
Whether the product can still be sold as brand new
Any cleaning, testing, repackaging or restoration required
A deduction will not automatically be applied to every return. Any deduction will be assessed after the product has been received and inspected.
Where the product is significantly damaged, incomplete or unsuitable for resale because of the customer’s handling, the deduction may reflect the full loss in value where permitted by law.
This section does not affect your statutory rights where a product is faulty, damaged when delivered, incorrect or not as described.
You are normally responsible for the direct cost of returning a product where:
You have changed your mind;
You ordered the wrong product;
You selected the wrong model, size, colour or variation;
The product is no longer required; or
You failed to check the compatibility information provided.
We recommend using a tracked and appropriately insured delivery service.
You remain responsible for the returned product until it has been delivered to the return address provided by us.
Please retain your proof of postage and tracking information until the return and refund process has been completed.
The cost of return postage for a change-of-mind return will not normally be reimbursed.
Where you validly cancel an order under your statutory cancellation rights, we will refund:
The price paid for the cancelled product; and
The cost of our least expensive standard delivery option, where an outbound delivery charge was paid.
Where you selected an enhanced, express or more expensive delivery service, we are not required to refund the additional amount above the cost of standard delivery.
We may withhold the refund until:
We have received the returned product; or
You provide satisfactory evidence that the product has been sent back,
whichever occurs first.
Refunds will normally be issued within 14 days of receiving the returned product or acceptable evidence that it has been returned.
Where the product has been handled beyond what was reasonably necessary, a deduction may be made to reflect the resulting reduction in value, as explained in Section 4.
Products supplied by BYD Parts UK must be of satisfactory quality, fit for their intended purpose and consistent with their description.
Please contact us promptly if a product:
Arrives damaged
Is faulty
Is not as described
Is materially different from the product ordered
Is missing essential components
Is unsuitable because we supplied the incorrect product
Email:
Please provide your order number, a clear description of the problem and photographs or video showing the issue.
Depending on the circumstances and your statutory rights, an appropriate solution may include:
A replacement
A repair
A full refund
A partial refund
Replacement components
Another suitable remedy agreed with you
Please do not dispose of, alter, repair, fit or return the product until we have reviewed the issue and provided instructions.
The deduction of up to 50% described in Section 4 does not apply where a product is genuinely faulty, damaged when delivered, incorrect or not as described.
Please inspect your order as soon as reasonably possible after it arrives.
If the parcel or product appears damaged, contact us promptly and provide photographs showing:
The outer packaging
The delivery label
Any internal packaging
The damaged product
The complete contents of the parcel
Please retain the product and all packaging while we investigate the matter, as the delivery or fulfilment provider may require these as evidence.
Reporting delivery damage promptly helps us investigate the issue and arrange an appropriate resolution.
Where we confirm that a product is faulty, damaged on arrival, incorrect or not as described, we will provide an appropriate return method or explain how reasonable return costs will be handled.
Please do not arrange an expensive return service without first receiving instructions from us.
We may not reimburse return costs that were unnecessary or substantially higher than a reasonable return method we could have provided.
We are not responsible for faults or damage caused by:
Incorrect fitting or installation
Incorrect removal
Improper handling
Misuse or neglect
Accidental damage
Unauthorised repairs
Modification or alteration
Failure to follow supplied instructions
Use with an unsuitable vehicle or component
Incorrect wiring or electrical connection
Normal wear and tear
External causes arising after delivery
Please inspect the product and confirm that it is correct and compatible before fitting, connecting, applying, cutting, drilling, bonding or otherwise altering it.
Where appropriate, installation should be completed by a suitably qualified or experienced person.
A genuine manufacturing fault is not excluded merely because a product has been installed. However, we may need to inspect the product and request information about how it was fitted before determining the cause of the issue.
Product titles, descriptions, measurements, photographs and compatibility information are provided to help you select an appropriate product.
Before ordering and fitting a product, please check:
Your exact BYD model
The model year
The vehicle specification and trim
The steering position
Product measurements
The shape and connection type
Any compatibility notes shown in the listing
That your existing component matches the product photographs where stated
Model names alone do not always confirm compatibility, as vehicle specifications may vary according to trim level, production date and market.
Please contact us before ordering where you are uncertain about compatibility.
Ordering the wrong product, selecting the wrong variation or failing to check stated measurements will normally be treated as a change-of-mind return rather than a product fault.
This does not affect your rights where the information supplied by us was inaccurate or misleading.
The statutory right to cancel may not apply to certain products, including:
Bespoke or personalised products
Products made to your specifications
Products that have been clearly customised
Sealed products that are not suitable for return for health or hygiene reasons once unsealed
Products that have become inseparably mixed with another item after delivery
Other products excluded by applicable consumer legislation
We may also be unable to accept a voluntary change-of-mind return where a product has been:
Fitted or installed
Electrically connected
Cut, drilled, painted or modified
Used beyond reasonable inspection
Damaged after delivery
Returned with components missing
Contaminated
Returned in a condition that makes it unsuitable for resale
Where we are able to accept such a return, a deduction of up to 50% of the product’s value may be applied if it can no longer be sold as brand new.
These restrictions do not remove your statutory rights where a product is faulty, damaged, incorrect or not as described.
Please check that an electrical product is correct and compatible before installation or connection.
For safety and diagnostic reasons, we may request details of the installation and may ask whether the product was fitted by an appropriately qualified person.
An electrical product will not automatically lose all return rights because it has been connected.
However, a change-of-mind refund may be reduced by up to 50% where an electrical product has been fitted or connected and can no longer be sold as brand new.
Returns may also be refused where damage has resulted from incorrect wiring, unsuitable voltage, improper installation, modification or misuse.
Your statutory rights remain unaffected where an electrical product was faulty when supplied.
Some BYD Parts UK products may be dispatched through our international storage and distribution network.
This allows us to provide a wider selection of BYD parts and accessories while keeping prices competitive.
Estimated delivery is usually 7–14 working days, although delivery can occasionally take longer because of:
Product processing times
Courier demand
Customs procedures
Public holidays
Weather disruption
Delivery location
Other circumstances outside our reasonable control
The delivery origin does not change your contract with BYD Parts UK or your statutory consumer rights.
Returns must not be sent directly to a supplier, overseas warehouse or an address shown on the original parcel unless we have expressly provided that address as part of the authorised return process.
Please contact us before refusing a delivery.
Refusing a parcel does not always ensure that it will be returned to the correct location or properly linked to your order.
Where a parcel is refused, left uncollected or returned because the delivery details supplied were incorrect, we may deduct reasonable return, processing or redelivery costs where permitted by law.
We will contact you once the parcel has been received and identified by the relevant fulfilment provider.
We may be able to arrange an exchange where:
The required replacement is available;
The original product is eligible for return; and
An exchange is practical within our fulfilment network.
In some circumstances, it may be quicker to refund the returned product and ask you to place a new order.
Any additional payment or refund resulting from a price difference will be explained before the exchange is completed.
Where the returned product has been used, fitted or damaged and cannot be sold as brand new, a deduction of up to 50% may be taken into account when calculating the value available towards an exchange.
Refunds will normally be returned to the original payment method used for the order.
We cannot usually refund a different card, bank account or payment account unless the original payment provider requires an alternative process.
After we issue a refund, your bank or payment provider may require additional time to show the funds in your account.
Delivery upgrades, return postage and other additional costs will only be refunded where required by law or expressly agreed by us.
If we have confirmed that a refund has been issued but it is not yet visible:
Check the original payment account.
Contact your card issuer, bank or payment provider.
Allow for their normal processing period.
Where the refund is still missing after a reasonable processing period, contact:
Please include your order number so that we can investigate.
We reserve the right to investigate return or refund requests where there is reasonable evidence of:
Fraud
Deliberate product damage
Product substitution
False or misleading claims
Missing components
Abuse of our returns process
Manipulation of photographs or other evidence
We may refuse or reduce a refund where legally permitted and where evidence shows that the returned product is not the product supplied or has been deliberately damaged.
This does not affect genuine customers exercising their statutory rights.
This policy explains our returns process and does not replace the rights available to you under UK consumer law.
Depending on the circumstances, these may include rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 and the Consumer Contracts Regulations.
Goods must generally be:
As described
Of satisfactory quality
Fit for their intended purpose
Where goods fail to meet these requirements, you may be entitled to a refund, repair, replacement or another legal remedy.
We may update this Returns, Refunds and Cancellations Policy from time to time to reflect changes to:
Our website
Our products or services
Our fulfilment arrangements
Our returns process
Legal or regulatory requirements
Our business practices
The latest version will be published on this page.
The “Last updated” date at the beginning of the policy shows when it was most recently revised.
